How to Shift from Scarcity to Abundance Thinking

Do you practice abundance thinking?abundance thinking How you perceive the world influences the opportunities you see, your expectations, and, ultimately, your outcomes.

You can see the world as either abundant or scarce.

One is clearly more optimistic than the other! If you choose one over the other, your perspective on the world changes dramatically.

An abundance mindset is optimistic and expects the best. It is also more altruistic because you believe you will get what you need.

It allows you to devote more time to helping others.

In contrast, a scarcity mindset promotes negativity and selfishness. You feel compelled to look out for yourself, even at the expense of others.

Viewing the world through the lens of abundance has several positive effects on your life:

1. Individuals with an abundance mindset believe there is enough for everyone. You believe the world has plenty of money, potential partners, and opportunities in general.

A scarcity mindset assumes there is a limited supply and that winning requires someone else to lose.

2. Maintaining an abundance mindset makes life easier. You believe anything is possible.

With that attitude, you are willing to try and believe that things will eventually work out for you.

A scarcity mindset leads to the belief that life is difficult. You perceive success as being more difficult than it actually is.

You prepare for the worst and may convince yourself that it is pointless to even try. A scarcity mindset makes it much more difficult to succeed.

3. Anticipating opportunities makes it easier to identify them. An abundance mindset makes opportunities more obvious. Seek, and you shall find.

Your expectations are frequently met in life.

Believing that opportunities are scarce will limit your ability to find them. This holds true even if they are right in front of your face.

4. Having an abundance mindset leads to increased risk-taking. You believe your chances of success are higher, so you take more risks.

The greater your risk, the greater your potential reward. You may also have more to lose, but this is all part of the game.

Those who are bold outperform those who are timid.

A scarcity mindset leads to a tendency to play it safe. You’re more concerned about losing what you have because you believe it will be difficult to regain.

5. Individuals with an abundance mindset are more relaxed. When you believe the world provides everything you require, you can unwind and enjoy life.

You see the possibilities as endless. Your overall attitude toward your life is more positive.

A scarcity mindset leads to fear and pessimism. You believe you must fight the world to get what you want and need.

You must protect what you have from loss.  Your life is viewed negatively.
